Laboratorio di intreccio cestini: L’arte dell’intreccio

 

È una delle pratiche più antiche alla quale l’uomo diede vita, intrecciando rami flessibili ed erbe spontanee per creare recipienti leggeri, resistenti e duraturi. Nel tempo l’uomo ha imparato a conoscere le piante del proprio habitat affinando anche le tecniche per intrecciarle.

Ogni zona infatti può oggi vantare un proprio cesto caratteristico come ne è un esempio quello diffuso nel territorio pugliese noto come panaridde, utilizzato nelle campagne durante la raccolta a mano delle olive.

Lentisco, mirto, ulivo, tasso, alaterno, prunus e canna sono solo alcune delle piante che possono essere utilizzate per creare accostamenti

Inaspettati di materiali e colori che ogni anno la natura - rigenerandosi - offre all’uomo.

 

Fare i cesti artigianalmente. Perché?

 

Perché imparare a realizzare un oggetto artigianalmente significa riprendere un legame profondo con la natura, con i nostri antenati e tradizioni.

 

Perché i cesti che si trovano oggi nei negozi non sono in grado di raccontare quasi nulla della loro storia, delle mani che li hanno realizzati, dei materiali di cui sono composti, tantomeno dei luoghi dai quali provengono.

 

Perché l’oggetto intrecciato a mano e realizzato con materiali naturali dura oltre cinquant’anni (a dispetto di quello di plastica) e se ne andrà senza causare inquinamento.

Perché il fatto di creare un oggetto senza acquistare nulla, nemmeno il materiale per realizzarlo, ha quasi dell’incredibile!

In fact, each area can now boast its own characteristic basket as an example is the widespread one in the Apulian territory known as panaridde, used in the countryside during the hand harvesting of olives.

Lentisk, myrtle, olive, yew, alaterno, prunus and cane are just some of the plants that can be used to create combinations

Unexpected materials and colors that nature - regenerating itself - offers to man every year.

 

Making the baskets by hand. Why?

 

Because learning how to make an object by hand means regaining a deep bond with nature, with our ancestors and traditions.

 

Because the baskets found in shops today are unable to tell almost anything of their history, of the hands that made them, of the materials they are made of, much less of the places they come from.

 

Because the hand-woven object made with natural materials lasts over fifty years (in spite of the plastic one) and will go away without causing pollution.

Because the fact of creating an object without purchasing anything, not even the material to make it, is almost unbelievable!
